Dark Knight Rises Bane
Bane is the main villain in the Dark Knight Rises, the movie sequel to Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight. For those who don’t know Bane:
Bane was born in the fictional Caribbean Republic of Santa Prisca, in a prison called Pena Dura (“Hard Rock”). When his father escaped from prison, the boy was forced to serve out his father’s life sentence, and thus Bane’s childhood and early adult life are spent in the amoral penitentiary environment. Though imprisoned, he’s eager to develop his natural abilities, reads as many books as he can get his hands on, builds up his body in the prison’s gym, and learns to fight in the merciless school of prison life. Bane ultimately establishes himself as the “king” of Pena Duro prison.
The prison’s controllers take note and eventually force him to become a test subject for a mysterious drug known as Venom, which had killed all other subjects. It nearly kills him at first, but he survives and finds the drug vastly increases his physical strength, although he needs to take it every 12 hours (via a system of tubes pumped directly into his brain) or he would suffer debilitating side-effects.
Years later, Bane escapes Pena Duro. His ambition turns to destroying Batman, whom he had heard tales of while serving his sentence. He is fascinated with Gotham City because, like the prison, it is a place where fear rules: in this case, fear of Batman. Bane is convinced that the demonic bat that haunted his dreams since childhood is a representation of the Batman.
Actor Tom Hardy got the role as Bane. You may remember his performance in the movie Bronson:

Dark Knight Rises Not in 3D
Director Christopher Nolan explains why the movie Dark Knight Rises, aka Batman 3, won’t be in 3D:

Our ambition for the third movie is to complete a story that has begun. This is not starting over, this is not rebooting. We’re finishing something, and keeping a consistency with what’s come before has real value.”
Well, I don’t mind if the Dark Knight Rises, but I want to watch it in IMAX!

Dark Knight Rises Movie
Director Christopher Nolan revealed to Hero Complex that the next Batman movie will be titled The Dark Knight Rises. He also ruled out the Riddler and Mr Freeze as villains.
Feels like the next villain could well be Harvey Dent Two Face (Aaron Eckhart). Who told you he’s dead? Anyway, don’t you know that it’s not uncommon to rise from the dead in the world of comic books!
Batman 3, er I mean the Dark Knight Rises movie should start filming in March 2011.

No Joker in Batman 3
Director Christopher Nolan recently talked about the movie Batman 3 and he ruled out two potential villains saying that their costumes are too fancy: neither Mr Freeze nor the Penguin will show up. Christopher Nolan also dismissed the Joker’s character in Batman 3, he said he wouldn’t feel comfortable (because Heath Ledger passed away)…
As a result the rumor about the Riddler as the main villain in Batman 3 keep getting stronger.

Batman 3 Release Date
There’s no official plot yet for Batman 3, we don’t even know who’s going to be the next villain, but at least we now have a release date: the movie Batman 3 is set to be released on July 20, 2012. Well that’s the studios’ tentative schedule. So it may change…

Batman 3 Script
Scriptwriter David Goyer has left the TV series Flash Forward (what a useless show!) to work again with Jonathan Nolan (Christopher Nolan’s brother) on the the script of Batman 3. It hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, but Director Christopher Nolan will most likely direct Batman 3 and should start to work on this third Batman movie once Inception is released in Summer 2010. So David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan don’t have to rush to write the script.
Let’s hope that they’re going to bring us a great Batman 3 script!
